Talented Ten Tutoring, LLC ("Talented Ten," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through talentedten.com (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or submitting our contact or registration forms, you agree to the practices described here.
Information we collect
When you use our contact form, we collect only the information you choose to provide, which may include:
- Your name and email address (required to respond to you);
- Your phone number (optional);
- The type of inquiry you select and an optional student grade level;
- The message you write to us; and
- Your consent to be contacted about your inquiry.
If you submit a registration form (to apply as a tutor, or to register a student), we also collect the more detailed information those forms request, including:
- Tutor applicants: your name, date of birth, email, phone, and home address; your school or current status, grade/year, GPA, and academic honors; the subjects and skill areas you're comfortable tutoring and your related experience, including any experience working with children; your availability; short written answers about your background and motivation for tutoring; contact information for two references (name, relationship, phone, and email); and your electronic signature certifying the application.
- Student registrations are completed by a parent or guardian and include the parent/guardian's full name, relationship to the student, email, phone number(s), home address, and preferred method of contact; the student's full name, date of birth, grade level, current school, and school district; the subjects, skills, and academic goals you'd like support with, including any prior tutoring, educational services, or learning-support notes you choose to share; your preferred program days; an emergency contact's name, relationship, and phone number; your answer to our media/photo release question; your electronic signature and the date you sign; and, optionally, information to help us match your child with a tutor (interests, hobbies, learning style, and what motivates them).
Reference and emergency contact information is provided to us by the registrant, not collected directly from those individuals. We do not knowingly collect more than the information described above.
Accounts and sign-in
To submit a registration, you must first create an account and verify your email address. This helps ensure that student and tutor information is submitted by a real, reachable person and is tied to an identifiable account. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and the account type you select (parent/guardian or prospective tutor). Your password is stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider — we never see or store your plain-text password. We keep a record of the registrations you submit so you can review them when signed in.
An account used to register a student must be created by a parent or guardian (18 or older). If a tutor applicant is under 18, the application additionally requires a parent or guardian's contact information and signature.
How we use your information
We use the information you submit solely to:
- Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you about tutoring, workshops, enrichment, or partnership requests;
- Review and process tutor applications and student registrations, and match students with suitable tutors;
- Provide the services or information you request; and
- Maintain records of inquiries and registrations for our internal reference.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Legal Basis & Consent
We process the information you submit on the basis of your consent, which you provide by checking the consent box and submitting the contact or registration form. You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at the address below.
Service Providers
To operate the Site, store your information, and communicate with you, we rely on the following trusted third-party services, which process limited data on our behalf:
- Supabase — secure account authentication and database hosting for account and registration information.
- Resend — delivery of transactional email (verification links, password resets, and registration notifications).
- Cloudflare — website hosting, the Turnstile anti-abuse check, and cookieless Web Analytics.
These providers securely process information only as needed to provide their services and under their own privacy and security commitments.
Cookies & Analytics
The Site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and does not track you across other websites or build an advertising profile. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If we add additional analytics or tracking in the future, we will update this policy and obtain consent where required.
Anti-spam
To protect the contact form from abuse, we use Cloudflare Turnstile and a hidden anti-spam field. These mechanisms help verify that submissions come from real people and do not collect personal information for marketing purposes.
Children's Privacy
Our tutoring services support students in grades 3–9. This Site is intended for use by parents, guardians, educators, and other adults, and the student registration form must be completed by a parent or guardian, who provides consent on the student's behalf. We collect a student's information only through that parent/guardian-completed form, and use it solely to provide tutoring and related services. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us information without such consent, please contact us and we will delete it.
An account used to register a student must be created and verified by a parent or guardian. Some tutor applicants are themselves minors (typically high-school students); in that case the application requires a parent or guardian to provide their contact information and to sign the application on the applicant's behalf. A parent or guardian may review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us.
Data Retention
We retain contact-form submissions for up to 12 months after we respond to your inquiry, unless a longer period is needed for our records.
We retain account and registration information for as long as your account is active and you are enrolled in or being considered for our programs, and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, accounting, and program records (generally no more than 24 months after your last activity), after which we delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion of your account and associated registrations at any time (see Your choices & rights below).
Your choices & rights
You may request that we access, correct, or delete the personal information you have provided, or that we stop contacting you, by emailing us. We will respond in accordance with applicable law.
Data Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect the personal information you provide against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or loss. These measures include:
- Encryption in transit. Everything you submit through our forms is sent over an encrypted HTTPS/TLS connection, so it cannot be read as it travels between your device and us.
- Encrypted, access-controlled storage. Account and registration information is stored in our hosted database (Supabase), which is encrypted at rest and protected by row-level security so each account can access only its own records. Administrative access is limited to a small number of authorized Talented Ten staff who need it to provide our services. Contact-form messages are delivered to authorized staff by email rather than stored on the Site.
- Abuse protection. Our forms are protected by bot-detection, a hidden anti-spam field, and rate limiting to help prevent automated misuse and unauthorized bulk access.
- Data minimization and retention. We ask only for the information we actually need, and we keep it only as long as necessary before deleting or anonymizing it (see Data retention above).
Despite these safeguards, no method of transmitting information over the internet or storing it electronically is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when we post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above.
